Honoring our Heritage, Airman returns 65 years after Japanese attack
HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, Hawaii -- After 65 years, Raymond D. Stehle returns to Oahu, Hawaii, to remember the attack on Dec 7, 1941, and share his story with his family. Mr. Stehle was a U.S. Army Private stationed at Bellows Army Air Field during the attack and later served as a B-24 bomber navigator, flying 36 combat missions in the Pacific. COMPACAF honors Legion of Merit recipient
Former Chief of Air Force, Major General Lim Kim Choon, was presented with the United States' Legion of Merit. The award was conferred by the Commander of the Pacific Air Force, General Paul V. Hester, during his visit to Singapore. The Legion of Merit award recogizes General Lim's efforts in strengthening the close relationship between the United States Air Force and the Republic of Singapore Air Force, during his service as CAF from April 2001 to March 2006.
