Gutierrez, 554th Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operational Repair Squadron Engineer Squadron structural journeyman, Andersen Airforce Base, Guam, alongside Chief Master Sergeant Kathleen M. McCool, Pacific Air Forces command chief, during the 2024 PACAF Outstanding Airman of the Year ceremony in the Courtyard of Heroes on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, June 10, 2024. Gutierrez led pre and post-typhoon efforts by placing sandbags around the Honor Guard's facility, protecting the building and $800,000 in assets, restoring operations in less than 24 hours. He also rendered military funeral honors at 4 burials, completed 21 secondary details, and guided a guard formation during the firing of 3-volleys for the Wreaths Across America, earning an Air Force Sergeants Association Member of the Quarter award and Senior Airman below the zone.
