Keen Sword 2010
An F/A-18E Super Hornet assigned to the Eagles of Strike Fighter Squadron 115 lands aboard the aircraft carrier USS George Washington. George Washington is on patrol in the western Pacific Ocean and preparing to participate in exercise Keen Sword 2010, a biennial exercise with the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. Keen Sword allows the U.S. and Japan to practice and evaluate the coordination procedures and interoperability elements required to effectively and mutually respond to the defense of Japan or to a regional crisis or contingency situation in the Asia-pacific region. Keen Sword 2010
U.S. Airmen from the 35th Maintaince Squadron marshal an F-16 Flying Falcons from Misawa Air Base, Japan, on the Komatsu Air Base, Japan, runway Dec. 1, 2010. Keen Sword 2010
U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Clinton Smith, 35th Aircaft Maintenance Squadron avionics specialist, pins landing gear to an F-16 Eagle Fighting Falcon from Misawa Air Base, Japan, after the aircraft landed at Komatsu Air Base, Japan, on Dec. 1, 2010.
