Medical personnel from the 18th Aeromedical Evacuation Squardon at Kaden Air Base Japan, the 15th Medical Group and Critical Care Air Transport Team East element at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, and Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii, transport a critically ill patient from a KC-135 Stratotanker to Tripler on Nov. 17, 2010. This is the first time CCATT East element has transported a critically ill patient during peacetime. The CCATT is a specialized, three-person medical team whose primary mission is to provide critical care management for critically ill or injured patients who require transport to advanced medical treatment facilities.
