Hawaii Military Appreciation Day
HONOLULU - An employee for BAE Systems passes out flags to onlookers of a parade as active duty, guard and reserve personnel marched in a Welcome Home Parade for the military on May 22 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The parade was followed up with entertainment at the Waikiki Shell with performances by four local Hawaii bands and a military joint jazz ensemble. Hawaii Honors Fallen Heroes
Audience members stand and pray at a special ceremony honoring, 28 service members who were posthumously presented the Hawaii Medal of Honor at the State Capitol, Honolulu, Hawaii, March 23, 2010. United States Air Force, Pacific Air Forces, First Lieutenant Roslyn L. Schulte was among the service members who received the prestigious medal. The Hawaii Medal of Honor was created in 2005 to recognize the heroism of those members of the U.S. armed forces with links to Hawaii who are killed in action while serving our country as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in Iraq and Afghanistan.
