U.S. Space Force Brig. Gen. Anthony J. Mastalir, U.S. Space Forces Indo-Pacific commander, met with Japan Air Self-Defense Force Col. Ajiki Toshihide, staff of the Commander of the Space Operations Group and Lt. Col. Hirano, Space Operations, Information and Network Communication Systems, to further integrate our JASDF partners into operations and capabilities of U.S. Space Forces in the Pacific region.

“We are striving to enhance combined space operations alongside Japan,” said Mastalir. “It’s important that we regularly integrate and collaborate on U.S. and Japan’s space efforts to ensure not only enhanced interoperability at an operational level, but also to ensure the security and safety of space-based assets.”

The U.S. and Japan will continue to seek modernization efforts, enhance integrated deterrence through space security initiatives, and reinforce interoperability though joint exercises, training, and space education.
