PACAF celebrates 80 years of air dominance

An ōhiʻa tree, a Hawaiian native evergreen tree, is dedicated during the Pacific Air Forces’ 80th anniversary ceremony at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Aug. 2, 2024. The command activated as the Far East Air Forces in Brisbane, Australia, on Aug. 3, 1944. It continues to adapt and evolve to meet the challenges of a changing security environment to defend the homeland, deter aggression, and reinforce allies and partners in the complex and ever-changing Indo-Pacific strategic environment.
