The setting sun beams through the clouds over the Pacific Ocean near Angaur, Republic of Palau, Dec. 5, 2023. The remote paradise of Angaur inhabits only a few hundred people and a singular airstrip. In the embrace of this small community, Operation Christmas Drop finds a people most in-need of humanitarian aid. In its 72nd year, OCD is the world’s longest-running humanitarian assistance airdrop training mission, providing critical supplies to 58 remote islands like Angaur, impacting 42 thousand people across 1.8 million square nautical miles of operating area.
