Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff transits through Yokota

U.S. Air Force Col. Andrew Roddan, 374th Airlift Wing commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Jerry Dunn, 374th AW command chief, stand at attention to greet U.S. Army General Mark A. Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, at Yokota Air Base, Japan, July 13, 2023. Milley transited through Yokota to Tokyo, where he met with Government of Japan leaders to discuss the U.S.-Japan commitment to upholding the rules-based international order in the Indo-Pacific region. As the key airlift hub of the Indo-Pacific, Yokota acts as a conduit for U.S. officials to engage in discussions with Japan, in support of the National Defense Strategies of both great nations.
