PACAF Airmen remember, honor heroes of 9/11

U.S. Air Force Col. David Dersch, Individual Mobilization Augmentee to the Pacific Air Forces command chaplain, smiles for a photo at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, Sept. 8, 2021. Dersch was 38-years-old, working as a pastor in a small church outside of Montgomery, Alabama, near Maxwell Air Force Base when the 9/11 events transpired. During this time, about half of his congregation consisted of Airmen. Inspired by the Airmen who attended his church, Dersch felt motivated to give back to his country. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech.
