The first three of 12 U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptors arrive at Royal Australian Air Force Base Tindal, Feb. 10, 2017. The At the direction of Adm. Harry Harris Jr., U.S. Pacific Command commander, Pacific Air Forces sent the Raptors and approximately 190 Airmen from the 90th Fighter Squadron at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, to conduct combined exercises and training missions with the RAAF as part of the Enhanced Air Cooperation Initiative under the Force Posture Agreement between the United States and Australia.
