The bonding process between child and parent takes place during the early months after a child is born. This process is sometimes delayed due to many male Airmen who are deployed during the birth of their children. Staff Sgt. Ryan Veith has a playful, bonding moment with his son, R.J. Sergeant Veith missed the birth of his first son due to his deployment to Iraq from September 2007 to February 2008. Sergeant Veith is a military working dog handler for the 354th Security Forces Squadron Eielson, Air Force Base, Alaska. He has deployed eight times and is set to leave for his ninth deployment in July.
