U.S. and Republic of Korea service members view the salvaged wreckage of ROK naval ship, Cheonan, at the ROK Navy 2nd Fleet Command at Pyeongtaek Navy Station, June 21, 2012. Forty-six Korean service members were killed, March 26, 2010, when a North Korean submarine sank the Cheonan with a torpedo. The detonation location was three meters to port from the center of the gas turbine room. The purpose of the tour is for ROK-US service members at Osan AB to acknowledge Korean security situations and strengthen the spirit of defending peace and liberty on the peninsula.
