Air Force Band of the Pacific performs on Waikiki Beach
HONOLULU, Hawaii -- The Air Force Band of the Pacific, "Hana Hou," performed live on Waikiki Beach Saturday, Sept. 1, during Sunset on the Beach. Mayor Mufi Hannemann paid tribute to the Air Force's 60th Anniversary and talked up the events of Air Force Week Honolulu, taking place Sept. 7-15. Gen. Paul V. Air Force Civilian Advisory Council hears from senior leaders
HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, Hawaii -- Col. Rojo Herrera (left), Air Force Week Honolulu project officer, and Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Remington (far back), director of Air, Space and Information Operations, Plans and Requirements, Headquarters Pacific Air Forces (PACAF), provided the year's first quarterly PACAF update briefing to the Air Force Civilian Advisory Council. The general's operations update focused on the Pacific including the F-22 deployment to Kadena AB, Japan; Red Flag Alaska; the capability of the C-17; and Global Hawks on Guam. Col. Herrera discussed Air Force Week events occurring 12-15 Sept., including a Thunderbirds flight demonstration off Waikiki beach.
