Lightning Strikes Twice
Two Australian F-35A Lightning II Joint Strike Fighters (JSF) arrive to the Hickam ramp at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam on February 23. Hickam was the last stop before the aircraft would fly at Avalon air show in Victoria, Australia on March 3. The F-35A will provide Australia with a fifth generation aircraft at the forefront of air combat technology, to provide a networked force-miltiplier effect in terms of situational awareness and combat effectiveness. U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Arrec Chetwood tightens a screw on the wing of an A-10C Thunderbolt II after the aircraft conducted a mission in the vicinity of Scarborough Shoal providing transparent air and maritime situational awareness April 21, 2016, at Clark Air Base, Philippines. Operation Christmas Drop
Crew members wave to islanders as a C-130H from the 374th Airlift Wing, Yokota Air Base, flies over the Island of Fais during Operation Christmas Drop, Dec. 8, 2015. Operation Christmas Drop is a humanitarian aid/disaster relief training event where C-130 crews provide critical supplies to 56 islands throughout the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas, Federated States of Micronesia and Republic of Palau.
