Pacific Partnership

Talking about the C-17
Capt. Skye Nakayama, C-17 pilot with the 204th Airlift Squadron, Hawaii Air National Guard, talks about the capabilities of the C-17 Globemaster with Sam Fujikawa, a World War II veteran who was a member of the 100th Infantry Battalion. The 100th infantry Battalion celebrated its 65th anniversary on June 5. The 100th Infantry Battalion is part of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, a unit composed of mostly Japanese Americans who fought in Europe during World War II. Military, civilians partner for vital disaster training

Everett Emerson, an Air National Guard medic from Kulis Air National Guard Base, Alaska, works with firefighters from the North Pole Fire Department to secure a simulated accident victim on a backboard for transportation to the Fairbanks Memorial Hospital May 9. Air Force Civilian Advisory Council hears from senior leaders
HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, Hawaii -- Col. Rojo Herrera (left), Air Force Week Honolulu project officer, and Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Remington (far back), director of Air, Space and Information Operations, Plans and Requirements, Headquarters Pacific Air Forces (PACAF), provided the year's first quarterly PACAF update briefing to the Air Force Civilian Advisory Council. The general's operations update focused on the Pacific including the F-22 deployment to Kadena AB, Japan; Red Flag Alaska; the capability of the C-17; and Global Hawks on Guam. Col. Herrera discussed Air Force Week events occurring 12-15 Sept., including a Thunderbirds flight demonstration off Waikiki beach.
