On the return flight from McMurdo Station, Antarctica, the C-17 evacuated a 56-year-old male assigned to the National Science Foundation in need of a cardiovascular evaluation. The medical movement to Christchurch, New Zealand, was conducted by Joint Task Force Support Forces Antarctica, headquartered at Hickam AFB, Hawaii, and led by 13th Air Force.
