ELMENDORF AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- Japan Air Self-Defense Force members pay their respects to the Yukla 27 Memorial here during a ceremony Sept. 30. Yukla 27 was the callsign for Elmendorf's AWACS that crashed Sept. 22, 1995, less than a mile away from the runway.
