Spring, in most cultures, symbolizes rebirth and a freshening of the surrounding environment; the same can be said around Misawa Air Base, Japan.

The base has embarked on approximately 100 improvement projects that range from pavement replacements to the full renovation of the Walmsley Bowling Center and other buildings.

"Spring is the best time to start projects," said Richard Williams, 35th Civil Engineer Squadron design and construction chief. "It's nice to see some of these older buildings get a facelift and much more."
