Pacific Air Forces hosted the Japan America Air Force Goodwill Association (JAAGA) for a roundtable discussion focused on building stronger strategic partnerships.

Lead by a group of retired Japan Air Self-Defense Force general officers, JAAGA has been fostering strong ties between JASDF and the U.S. Air Force for over four decades. Their visit to PACAF headquarters allowed both sides to exchange ideas, strengthen their relationship, and collaborate on the best way forward for air and space forces for both countries.

“The JAAGA is a testament to the enduring strength of the U.S.-Japan alliance,” said Gen. Kevin Schneider, PACAF commander. “Their dedication to fostering friendship and cooperation between our two air forces is invaluable. We are honored to host them here and keep working together to ensure a secure and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.”

During the meeting, PACAF leadership discussed the command’s strategic priorities, including reinforcing allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region. The JAAGA members expressed their interest in learning more about PACAF’s operations and how they can contribute to the ongoing collaboration between the two air forces and the possibility to include the U.S. Space Force.

The visit aligns with PACAF’s commitment to strengthening its relationships with like-minded countries in the Indo-Pacific. By working together, these nations can maintain a free and open region and counter the threats their strategic competitors pose.
