JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii --

Northern Edge 21 will take place May 3-14 at several military installations, local airports and training areas around Alaska.

Service members from the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps will participate in the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command sponsored, Pacific Air Forces led, joint training exercise.

NE 21 provides high-end, realistic war fighter training, develops and improves joint interoperability, and enhances the combat readiness of participating forces by building on lessons learned during Valiant Shield 20 Sept. 14-25, 2020, at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam.

The exercise is a joint field training exercise focused on joint task force tactical and operational level requirements and transformation initiatives and held every odd year.

NE 21 provides U.S. forces an opportunity to test and train on these and other concepts like agile combat employment, joint all-domain command and control, and all-domain operations center.

Planning for NE 21 continues, and PACAF will release more information on participating units and exercise locations as it becomes available.
