JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii -- Pacific Air Forces released the results of its investigation into a motor vehicle accident resulting in the death Mr. Dunstan Wagner Aug. 18, 2019, at the Moose Run Golf Course at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska.
Wagner, who was the Assistant Golf Course Manager and a Non-Appropriated Funds Government Civilian Employee assigned to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, received fatal injuries after a six-wheeled 2009 Polaris Ranger All-Terrain Vehicle collided with the end of a partially open access gate, causing him to be thrown from the vehicle.
Wagner was managing a Sunday morning golf tournament checking on the tournament course of play when the accident occurred.
"The loss of one of our civilian teammates is tragic,” said Lt. Col. Diamond Cookson, 673d Force Support Squadron commander. “Dunstan was a valued member of the joint-base community. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with his family and loved ones."
The incident did not result in any other injuries, fatalities or damage to private property.
In accordance with AFI 51-307, Aerospace and Ground Accident Investigations, this Ground Accident Investigation Board conducted a legal investigation to inquire into all the facts and circumstances surrounding this Air Force ground accident, prepared a publicly releasable report, and obtained and preserved all available evidence for use in litigation, claims, disciplinary action, and adverse administrative action.
