BRIGADIER GENERAL MICHAEL A. KELTZ Brig. Gen. Michael A. Keltz is the Deputy Director of Operations, Plans, Requirements and Programs, Pacific Air Forces (PACAF), Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii. He develops comprehensive and definitive plans and programs for the command to execute contingency air, space, and information operations and support activities, including flying training for all PACAF combat forces and support for theater weather and air traffic services. He also directs the development of the command's Program Objective Memorandum (POM) input to the Air Staff, all PACAF strategic planning, the development and execution of PACAF's international affairs and strategic engagement, and the development of PACAF force structure options. General Keltz received his commission from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1981. He's flown combat and contingency operations on AC-130H, MC-130E, MC-130H and AC-130U gunships and Combat Talons in Grenada, El Salvador, Panama, Sierra Leone and in operations Desert Storm and Provide Comfort. During operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, he was the Air Component Commander for several classified joint task forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. He's served on the headquarters staff of the Air Force Special Operations Command, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and also on the Air Staff as the Deputy Chief of the Checkmate Division. He has commanded a special operations squadron; a special mission group in Iraq and Afghanistan; the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing in Southwest Asia; and the 607th Air and Space Operations Center at Osan AB. The general is a command pilot with more than 4,000 hours, including more than 300 combat and contingency sorties in AC-130, C-130E and MC-130 aircraft.
