Col. Patrick C. Malackowski is Vice Commander, 13th Air Force, Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Hawaii. Colonel Malackowski supports the Commander, 13th Air Force, in his responsibilities for the command, control, and execution of air, space and information operations across the full range of military operations in the U.S. Pacific Command area of responsibility, excluding the Korea theater of operations. Headquarters 13th Air Force provides oversight and direction to the 15th Airlift Wing, Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam; the 36th Wing, Andersen AFB, Guam; the 1st Air Support Operations Group, Fort Lewis, Wash.; and 12 additional units in Japan, Alaska and California. Thirteenth Air Force is home to the George C. Kenney Headquarters, which includes the 613th Air and Space Operations Center. It provides the commanders of U.S. Pacific Air Forces and U.S. Pacific Command continuous combat capability and a standing organization tasked to immediately execute operations in support of theater and national objectives.

Colonel Malackowski was commissioned in 1986 after graduating from the U.S. Air Force Academy. His commands include the 81st Fighter Squadron, Spangdahlem AB, Germany; the 438th Air Expeditionary Group, Al Asad AB, Iraq; and the 57th Operations Group, Nellis AFB, Nevada. His staff experience includes the Chief of Training and Readiness, 13th Air Force, Andersen AFB, Guam. Prior to his current assignment, he was the Commander, 51st Fighter Wing, Osan AB, RoK.

Colonel Malackowski is a command pilot with more than 3,500 flying hours in the A-10.
