Jim Brierly hugs Capt. Dan Bradford as 1st Lt. Marta Lofthouse looks on at Kadena Air Base, Japan, on May 2, 2007. Captain Bradford and Lieutenant Lofthouse were the pilots who flew the KC-135 that medically evacuated Mr. Brierly to Hawaii after he suffered a major heart attack. Mr. Brierly and his wife, Marite, visited the units to thank them for their efforts. Mr. Brierly teaches English as a second language at Kadena Elementary School.
