U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Summer Mitchell, 8th Intelligence Squadron imagery analyst, smiles for a photo at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, Sept. 9, 2021. Mitchell was born in 2000, making her only a year old when the 9/11 attacks transpired. The effects of that day gradually became more impactful after she understood the tragedy of that day. U.S. Air Force Col. David Dersch, Individual Mobilization Augmentee to the Pacific Air Forces command chaplain, smiles for a photo at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, Sept. 8, 2021. Dersch was 38-years-old, working as a pastor in a small church outside of Montgomery, Alabama, near Maxwell Air Force Base when the 9/11 events transpired.
