Members of the Yokota Air Base honor guard present the colors during the United Nations Day 70th Anniversary Celebration in Tokyo, Japan, Nov. 16, 2015. UN Day commemorates the anniversary of the entry into force of the United Nations Charter in 1945 and has been celebrated as UN Day since 1948. The day also provides an opportunity for the UNC, a unified command structure for the multinational military forces supporting South Korea, to show its appreciation for the ongoing support from sending states, supporting organizations and Japan, and to reinforce the value to regional security and stability. Attendees include ambassadors, diplomats, members of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defense, Japanese Self-Defense Forces and United States Forces, Japan, senior military officers.
