Vietnam vet remains to be memorialized Published March 12, 2007 By 020307 HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, Hawaii -- A ceremony to honor recovered remains believed to be associated with American military members will take place on Friday, March 16th. There will be three transfer cases associated with the Vietnam war: one from the Lao People's Democratic Republic, one from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and one from the Kingdom of Cambodia. A joint honor guard will memorialize the arrival of all remains on Friday at 9 a.m. at Hangar 35, Hickam Air Force Base. Following the ceremony, the remains will be transported to the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command where the forensic identification process begins.
