Celebrating Women's Equality Day at Osan

U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Angela George, 51st Communications Squadron client systems supervisor, poses for a photo as a part of Women’s Equality Day at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, Aug. 15, 2023. George works on customer trouble tickets, integrates base communications systems, upkeeps software operating systems, establishes preventive maintenance actions, reports and prevents security incidents. Women's Equality Day, established by the Joint Resolution of Congress in 1971, is observed on Aug. 26th and commemorates the 1920 passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which gave women the right to vote. The observance has grown to include focusing attention on women's continued efforts toward gaining full equality. Women’s Equality Day celebrates and honors the women’s suffrage movement and acknowledges the hurdles that women have had to overcome in their stride towards equality and progress. The 51st Fighter Wing celebrates its strong and diverse workforce that brings new and different ideas to the table to execute its missions as the Air Force’s most forward deployed fighter wing.
