U.S. Air Force Airmen assigned to the 673rd Security Forces Squadron participate in riot-control training at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, July 27, 2023. During this training, Airmen learned indicators of crowd behaviors, how to identify crowd leaders, and the different types of crowds. They practiced different formations and commands used during civil-disturbance operations. Additionally, Airmen took on each role within a riot-control operation to include rifleman, shieldman and members of the extraction team. This training aims to prepare Airmen to be more efficient in the event of a civil disturbance and more capable of defending assets on the installation.
