Air Contingent Philippines

Four U.S. Air Force A-10C Thunderbolt II aircraft taxi down the runway at Clark Air Base, Philippines, after completing an air and maritime domain awareness mission in international waters west of the Philippines April 28, 2016. These aircraft are part of U.S. Pacific Command’s Air Contingent, which was stood up at the invitation of the Philippine government in order to strengthen cooperation and interoperability between the U.S. and Philippines. The Air Contingent provides greater and more transparent air and maritime situational awareness to ensure safety for military and civilian activities in international waters and airspace. The AMDA missions the A-10C’s conducted during the deployment enhance the ongoing maritime situational awareness missions that have been carried out by the U.S. Navy’s P-8 deployments to Clark for a number of years.
