The Nepalese officials and Airmen teamed up to conduct necessary repairs to the airfield after it sustained damage following a magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck the nation April 25, 2015. In response to the Nepal earthquake, the U.S. military sent Airmen, Marines, Soldiers and Sailors as part of JTF-505 to support the humanitarian assistance and disaster relief mission in Nepal at the direction of U.S. Agency for International Development.
