Joint forces join for Valiant Shield

Boatswain's Mate 3rd Class Tyler Joosten from Salt Lake City, Utah, signals an MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter from the Saberhawks of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 77 as it launches off the flight deck of the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Halsey (DDG 97). Halsey is currently participating in Valiant Shield, a U.S.-only exercise integrating U.S. Navy, Air Force, Army and Marine Corps assets, offering real-world joint operational experience to develop capabilities that provide a full range of options to defend U.S. interests and those of its allies and partners.
