Royal New Zealand and United States Air Force personnel work together to direct the loading of gear and supplies, including a RNZAF Pinzgauer Light Offroad Vehicle, onto a U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III in support of exercises Southern Katipo and Kiwi Flag Nov. 9 at RNZAF Base Ohakea, New Zealand. The C-17 is deployed from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. Kiwi Flag is a multilateral RNZAF-sponsored tactical airlift exercise conducted in New Zealand. Air assets from the USAF, the RNZAF, the Royal Australian Air Force, the Republic Of Singapore Air Force, and the French Armed Forces of New Caledonia are participating. Air operations will be conducted out of RNZAF Base Ohakea, New Zealand. Kiwi Flag provides air support to Exercise Southern Katipo, New Zealand Defence Force’s largest multilateral joint force amphibious exercise with eight other nations participating: United States Army and Marines, Australia, Canada, France, Malaysia, Singapore, Papua New Guinea and Tonga.
