PACAF Airmen Observe National Police Week

Airmen observe a moment of silence in front of a memorial honoring fallen Security Forces Airmen May 12, 2014 at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. The memorial was placed in the Courtyard of Heroes in the Pacific Air Forces Headquarters Building in honor of national "Police Week" - a time of observance proclaimed in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy in which he designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Nathan Allen)
