A low-cost low-altitude bundle reaches the South China Sea during Cope Taufan 14, June 13, 2014. This is the first LCLA airdrop in Malaysia. The drops are termed “low-cost” reflecting the relative expense of the expendable parachutes compared to their more durable, but pricier nylon counterparts. “Low-altitude” alludes to the relative height from which bundles are released from the aircraft.
