Fathers and Sons

Members of the Air Force who deploy find small ways for their children to remain close to them during their deployment. Staff Sgt. Ryan Veith, who was deployed to Iraq the moment his son was born, allows his son R.J. to play with one of his dog tags. Sergeant Veith has deployed eight times and is set to leave for his ninth deployment in July. He plans on leaving a duplicate set of his dog tags for his son during his next deployment. Sergeant Veith is a military working dog handler for the 354th Security Forces Squadron Eielson, Air Force Base, Alaska. (U.S Air Force photo by TSgt Eric T. Sheler)
