Maj. Corey A. Simmons, an active duty evaluator pilot with the 62nd Operations Support Squadron at McChord Air Force Base, Wash., and Maj. Eric Von Trotha, a Reserve evaluator pilot with the 313th Airlift Squadron, also at McChord, perform pre-flight procedures at Christchurch International Airport, New Zealand Sept. 10. The pilots are part of an aircrew taking some 60,000 pounds of supplies to Antarctica as part of Joint Task Force Support Forces Antarctica, headquartered at Hickam AFB, Hawaii, and led by 13th Air Force.
