HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, Hawaii – Tech. Sgt. Denny Hart, 15th Civil Engineer Squadron explosive ordnance disposal technician, loads munitions rounds in an electronic robot prior to training here June 22. The EOD team regularly uses their robots to enter houses and approach improvised explosive devices in order to safely disarm the unexploded ordnance. From a distance, a robot controller can use the machine to shoot or detonate anything that may be too dangerous for an EOD tech in a bomb suit to approach. Regular training prepares EOD members for scenarios they may encounter in a deployed environment. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Carolyn Viss)
