Keeping Airmen safe

Airman 1st Class Kendrick Oliver, 18th Security Forces Squadron, Kadena Air Base, Japan, gives a breathalyzer test to a driver coming through the base’s main gate. Random field sobriety tests have been stepped up to prevent drinking and driving cases. "Normally we’re just out here just to check I.D.s and do random breathalyzer tests, but we’re just stepping it up so we can ensure mission readiness and make sure all the Airman are safe when they come on base," said Airman Oliver. "It’s important for us to be doing this because we want to protect our Airmen. We don’t want anyone to get in a wreck or anything or be able to hurt anybody."
