EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- Flying Officer Lucas Roston, Surveillance and Control Training Unit, Royal Australian Air Force, Williamstown, Australia, communicates on a Denro Communication Panel with a KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft during Red Flag-Alaska 07-02 Thursday. Flying Officer Ross, along with other weapons controllers, monitors seven frequencies in the back-up control facility for the exercise and provide support for over 67,000 square miles around Eielson. RF-A is a Pacific Air Forces-directed field training exercise for U.S. forces flown under simulated air combat conditions.
