Airmen who were assigned to the 317th Fighter Interceptor Squadron from 1957-1969 reunited Sept. 17 at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. The 16 former pilots and their families gathered in Anchorage to mark the first and possibly only reunion here in Alaska since the unit was deactivated more than 40 years ago. The Airmen are pictured in front of the F-102A "Delta Dagger" -- the aircraft they flew -- in Heritage Park. The squadron was tasked with defending Alaska and the northwestern approaches to the lower 48. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Matt Coleman-Foster)
