EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska-- Staff Sgt. Jason Clapper, Det. 1, 66th Training Squadron Arctic Survival Instructor, demonstrates the correct position of tree branches for the base of a shelter to a class of U.S Air Force members of Eielson and Elmendorf Air Force Bases during the second day of the Arctic Survival Training Course Nov. 15, 2007. The survival course teaches members how to survive in a severe cold climate. The course consists of shelter building, identifying safe food found in nature, how to stay warm, and how to correctly signal for help.
