Maj. Gen. Jan-Marc Jouas, Pacific Air Forces Operations, Plans, Requirements and Programs director at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Hawaii, joins local officials in symbolically cutting the ribbon Feb. 22, 2010 on classrooms renovated in Laoag, Philippines, as part of Operation Pacific Angel 10-1. From Feb. 15 to 22, U.S. and Philippine participants in the operation provided optometry, dental and primary medical care to nearly 14,000 local residents; veterinary care to more than 3,300 animals; and classrooms for approximately 480 local children through thousands of dollars in plumbing, electrical and structural repair to restore two elementary schools devastated by storms in 2009.
