Students from Aurora Elementary School, at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska, work together to sort school supplies and pack them into boxes, Feb. 25, 2010, which will then be sent to students in Konar River Valley, Afghanistan. During the past several weeks, students from AES’s Student Council and Service Learning Club held a school supply drive, collecting pens, pencils, spiral notebooks, colored pencils, notebook paper, markers and hand-operated pencil sharpeners that will be distributed throughout 13 schools in the Konar River Valley.
