Pacific Angel 2010

U.S. and Sri Lankan civil engineers cut boards for a stage that Semandaluwa Kanishta Vidyalaya school children will perform on, on Aug. 16, 2010. The construction work is being conducted as part of Operation Pacific Angel-Sri Lanka in Puttalam Township, Sri Lanka, where more than 40 U.S. servicemembers are working alongside Sri Lankan, Maldives, and Mongolian military and civilian representatives to provide humanitarian medical care and to conduct civil engineering projects. Operation Pacific Angel is a joint and combined humanitarian assistance operation conducted in the Pacific area of responsibility to support U.S. Pacific Command's capacity-building efforts. This humanitarian and civic assistance program is aimed at improving military civic cooperation between the United States and countries throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Pacific Angel 2010 is scheduled through August 22. (U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sgt. Mike Hammond)
