Students from Amelia Earhart Intermediate School on Kadena Air Base, Japan, get audience members involved in their performance by handing off their Taiko drums to spectators on July 23, 2011. The students demonstrated Taiko drumming, Eisa dances and songs for the kick-off event of the Kijimuna Festival. This annual, nine-day celebration is designed to showcase performing arts, workshops and other activities to youth. This year's event consists of performing arts companies from 14 countries and is the first time that American children have performed traditional Okinawan song and dance in this forum.
