Operation Pacific Angel-Mongolia's ger base camp is approximately 175 miles east of capitol city, Ulaanbaatar. This is the first Pacific Angel in Mongolia from 18-23 July, 2011. Traditional gers (tents) accomodate 130 Mongolian, U.S., and Sri Lankan military medical providers, engineers, and support staff, along with Project Hope and interpreters. Outreach programs in medical, dental, optometry, veterinary and engineering are being held in Delgerkhaan, Jargaltkhaan, and Tsenkhermandal remote villages and Ondorkhaan city in Hentii province. Pacific Angels cultivate bonds and foster goodwill between the U.S. and Asian-Pacific countries through capacity-building in humanitarian assistance.
