70th Anniversary of Hickam Field attacks

Army Air Corps Veteran, Louis Roffman uses his hand to shield his eyes from the early morning sun while waiting for the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam remembrance ceremony to begin Dec. 7, 2011, at JBPHH. Airmen, their families and veterans gathered at Atterbury Circle, the site of the same flagpole that stood during the Japanese attack Dec. 7, 1941. The ceremony was held to honor the survivors of the attacks and remember the 238 Army Air Corps Airmen who died defending Hickam Field. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Michael R.
