Misawa Remembers

A retired F-86 fighter aircraft rests as the U.S. and Japan national flags fly at half staff March 11, 2012 at Misawa Air Base, Japan. The day marks the one-year anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake and subsequent tsunami, which claimed the lives of more than 16,000 people and left more than 3,000 people uncounted for. In addition to the base flying the flags at half staff, more than 350 runners and volunteers participated in a 5k remembrance run hosted by the Misawa Air Base American Red Cross.
